Spartan Tool Supply has Central Ohio's largest in-stock inventory of the drill bits you need from the best manufacturers.
We stock high-speed taps and dies, reamers for the professional contractor, and a huge inventory of drill bits for wood, masonry, concrete, and metal. Stop in for immediate pickup or we'll ship it out today from Columbus, Ohio.
Maintenance shops, fabricators, and contractors count on us for the exact bit they need, the same day. Pair your bits with the right drill or magnetic drill press from our power tools selection, and for larger holes in concrete, see our concrete cutting core bits.

The right bit drills faster, makes cleaner holes, and lasts longer. These are the main things to look at.
High-speed steel (HSS) bits handle wood, plastic, and mild steel. Cobalt bits (M35 and M42) hold their edge at high heat, which makes them the right choice for stainless and hardened steel. Carbide-tipped bits are for masonry and concrete. Black oxide coatings resist rust, and titanium nitride (TiN) coatings reduce friction.
A 118° point is a general-purpose angle for softer materials. A 135° split point self-centers, walks less on the surface, and works better in harder metals.
SDS-plus bits fit most rotary hammers and handle everyday anchor holes. SDS-max bits are for larger holes and heavier rotary hammers. Straight-shank carbide bits fit standard hammer drills. For big holes, step up to diamond core bits.
Always drill the correct tap-drill size for your thread. Spiral-point taps push chips ahead and are best for through holes, while spiral-flute taps pull chips out and are best for blind holes. Reamers bring a drilled hole to a precise final size.
Use cutting fluid when drilling metal, and slow down for larger bits and harder materials. A blue or burnt tip means the bit overheated. Let the bit cut rather than forcing it, and resharpen or replace dull bits, since they overload your drill's motor.
Cobalt drill bits (M35 or M42) are the best choice for stainless steel because they hold their edge at high temperatures. Use a slow speed, steady pressure, and cutting fluid.
Yes. Spartan Tool Supply stocks high-speed taps and dies and reamers for professional contractors, along with drill bits for wood, masonry, concrete, and metal.
SDS-plus bits fit lighter rotary hammers and are used for most anchor and smaller holes. SDS-max bits have a larger shank for heavier rotary hammers and bigger, deeper holes in concrete. The two aren't interchangeable.
